Front-Load Washer Clean and Fresh

Front-Load Washer Clean and Fresh

Most people expect their washing machine to keep their laundry clean. Who wouldn’t think so? Since it cleans, wouldn’t we also think that it stays clean because that is its job? Front-load washes need a little more care of their own when it comes to maintaining them.

How would you know if your machine had issues? Well, if you ever went to go do some laundry and it smelled a bit funky or sour, that’s a good sign your washer has bacteria or mold present!

Many people choose to go with front load washers due to the efficiency of them. They’re easier to load and unload, and they use less water because it does not need to fill up entirely. The clothes just move in circles, through the water. What is the problem with this?

One of the problems is with your laundry detergent. Due to your need for LESS water, you also need to use LESS detergent. Any extra detergent isn’t able to be washed away and it builds in the washer. It traps the dirt and nasty stuff inside. There’s also hot water that doesn’t dry because of the rubber on the washer door, which is a perfect place for bacteria to grow.  There’s a problem, but it’s not hard to overcome. Some basic products you have at home will do the trick. Baking soda and vinegar <3

How to Get Rid of the Smell

Simply mix one-fourth of a cup of baking soda and the same for water and put it in the detergent slot of your washing machine. The next step is to pour two cups of vinegar into the machine and run a normal cycle on the highest heat setting available. These steps will remove the nasty stuff inside and also get rid of the nasty smell and bacteria.

Now that the washer is clean, keep doing these stems every one to two months to maintain a clean, fresh washer. Youll be able to smell when its time! Use detergent that was specially made for the high-efficiency washers, and just follow the instructions on how much to use. This is a case where more is not better.

To keep the washer dry, leave the door open after it’s done running, as well as the detergent entrance. This allows for both parts to dry, especially that breeding ground of a rubber seal on the door. Make sure to also remove any lint from the trap!
