3 Household Cleaners You Can Make Yourself
Chances are you have loads of household cleaners hanging out under your sink or around your home. From sanitizing sprays to cleansing scrubs, it’s easy to collect tons of cleaning supplies without realizing it. In the mood to get your DIY on and make a few popular household cleaners yourself? We’re sharing the ingredients to a few of our favorites below!
1. All-Natural Foaming Hand Soap
• Purified water
• Liquid castile soap
To make: fill your soap container of choice 1/4 of the way to the top using your liquid castile soap. Fill the remainder of the container to the top with purified water, and add your preferred fragrance (optional). Once filled, screw on the top of the container and gently shake to mix the ingredients. Enjoy simple and all-natural hand soap!
2. All-Purpose Counter Cleaner
• 32-ounce spray bottle container
• Purified water
• Food-grade vinegar
To make: mix together 16 ounces purified water with 16 ounces vinegar in a mixing bowl. Add a funnel to the top of your spray bottle container and pour the mixed solution into the bottle. Put the top back on and get to cleaning those counters!
3. Sink Drain De-Clogger
• Tap water
• Baking soda
To make: boil 2 cups of tap water. Once boiled, mix with 1/2 cup baking soda and slowly pour down the clogged drain. After waiting one minute, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar down the drain. Let sit for an additional minute, and follow-up with an additional 2 cups of boiling water. Your sink drain should become unclogged in no time!
