3 Cleaning Tasks for Kids

3 Cleaning Tasks for Kids

During busy weeks, it’s hard to keep your house tidy. If you’re a parent, our Luxury Maids team understands how valuable your time is, which is why we’re here to help!

In case you’re in-between house cleanings and need a little help, ask your kids to help pitch in with cleaning. We’re sharing three easy cleaning tasks that will keep little ones occupied and help you out, too!

Ask kids to fold laundry.

Folding laundry isn’t necessarily difficult, but it certainly takes up a lot of time. Rather than tackling this yourself, ask your kids to help fold laundry. You can even turn it into a game to see who finishes first! Hand off small items like socks and hand towels to younger children, and larger items like t-shirts and bath towels to older children.

Assign different areas to dust to kids.

Another easy way to get your children to help with household cleaning tasks is by handing off the dusting to them. This could look like asking a younger child to wipe down baseboards and surfaces with a dust cloth, and having older children help dust harder to reach areas and like blinds and windowsills.

And finally – clean the playroom!

If you have a designated playroom in your home, this is the perfect area to ask children to regularly clean. Assign a weekly cleaning and organization schedule to each child to ensure that all toys are put away in a tidy manner. We also recommend investing in storage bins to make this process even easier – organization is key!
